San Ramón de Santa Teresita
Santa Teresita, Turrialba, Turrialba, Cartago, Costa Rica 30505

An exceptional opportunity to acquire a true gem in Costa Rica’s Central Valley.

This 3.8-hectare farm dedicated to the cultivation of fine-flavor cacao is located in San Ramón de Santa Teresita, Turrialba, surrounded by the extraordinary natural beauty and cultural richness of the mountains of central Costa Rica.

The property is located approximately 2 km from the Guayabo Archaeological Site, one of Costa Rica’s most important pre-Columbian sites, while at the same time offering an exceptional sense of privacy and connection with nature.

At the heart of the property is its cacao plantation, integrated into an agroforestry system and surrounded by a diverse natural landscape. Majestic trees, abundant vegetation, and wildlife create an authentic connection with the land, while the farm offers the opportunity to continue and further develop cacao production.

The property also includes a small cacao post-harvest facility, allowing the cacao produced on the farm to be processed directly on site.

One of the property’s greatest attractions is its private river, which runs through the farm and provides a completely private space to enjoy the water and surrounding nature, with no public access.

The farm’s topography offers panoramic views across the surrounding landscape, including views of Turrialba Volcano and the distant Pilón de Azúcar. The combination of expansive views, forest, cacao, and water gives the property a character that is truly difficult to find.

The farm features a uniquely designed house, conceived to foster a close connection with its surroundings. Built between 2021 and 2023 using materials sourced from the farm itself, the house combines contemporary, individual design with the natural character of the property. Large windows allow natural light, vegetation, and views to become an integral part of the interior spaces.

The house features two bedrooms, one bathroom, and an open-plan living area. One of its most distinctive features is its spacious outdoor kitchen with a covered terrace, which is one of the central spaces of the house rather than simply an additional outdoor area. It is a place to cook, eat, and gather while enjoying the landscape surrounding the farm.

In addition to its agricultural and residential value, the property offers interesting potential for the development of an authentic rural tourism project. Its location just a few kilometers from the Guayabo Archaeological Site creates opportunities for cacao tours, local cultural experiences, birdwatching, hiking, as well as yoga and wellness retreats making use of the spacious terrace, among other possibilities.

This property is not simply a country house with land. It is a truly special place in Costa Rica.
